Hi Darcy!
I think I’m ready to meet some more weavers, and am interested in joining the guild. I’m pretty busy with WRSW, but I hope that there’s room for me? Is there a form that I need to fill out, or do I just send in my check with a note?

Nancy! So great to hear from you. I will send you an email with more details, but yes, a check to Jean Jackson and a note is sufficient :) Looking forward to seeing you!

Last month, I published a second book on kumihimo design called The Twenty-Four Interlacements of Edo Yatsu Gumi. I would like to donate a copy of this book to the Cuyahoga Weavers Guild Library in memory of Lorrie Holzbach. I would also like to donate a copy of the first book published in 1998 which is almost out of print … The Thirty-Seven Interlacements of Hira Kara Gumi. I first met Lorrie in Kyoto Japan in 1980 at the Kawashima Textile School. When Lorrie became program director for the Guild, she invited me to teach a kumihimo workshop, and later a rep weave workshop. I think of Lorrie often, and would like to make this book donation in her honor. Please let me know where to send the books. Thank you.

Rosalie, that is such a sweet and generous offer. On behalf of the guild, thank you. I’ll make sure Victoria, our illustrious librarian, sees this comment and gets in touch.

Wow Rosalie!
I am honored to accept this gift from you in remembrance of our lost Lorrie. I’ll get contact info from Darcy and be in touch soon.

I am a very active weaver in Kalamazoo, MI (Education Chair for 6 years) and have learned that my husband will be accepting a position in Youngstown in spring. While I optimistically hope to stay part of WGK and MLH, I would like to learn what the weaving communities are like in Northeastern Ohio. We haven’t yet decided on a new address, and having lived in Shaker Heights in the past, I know the distance between the cities might be “iffy” in the worst winter months, but I’d sure like to learn more about your guild! My private goal in weaving is to apply for the COE Weaving in 2014. It was so nice to see Rosalie’s comments–she is a fantastic weaver and person!

Gail, we will look forward to your arrival! Maybe you’ll be here in time to join our April workshop with Ruby Leslie? Please do let us know where you land when you get here :)

I have what I believe is a notebook of handwritten minutes from your Guild meetings in the 1980s, plus a small folder of other material from an estate sale. I would love it get this into your hands, as I have no use for it. To whom may I send this material? Thank you.
